Internet Facing Devices – How we can help

We are in a generation where a lot of devices are available over the internet and many of these devices can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

Criminals now scan the internet for devices that potentially have known weaknesses, weak passwords and scans through known ports actively looking for vulnerabilities in all internet facing devices from CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control Systems to other common use items, for example, washing machines, heating systems, sockets, lighting.

Black Box Security has implemented an internet strengthening policy for all our engineers and this is applied to the equipment we supply and fit. This does NOT make the equipment immune to attack and we cannot apply this policy to equipment we don’t supply, program or maintain.

This includes but not limited to:

  • Customer routers,
  • Customer owned network equipment
  • Equipment not supplied by Black Box Security,
  • Equipment taken over from other companies,
  • Equipment not maintained by Black Box Security.

We are recommending to our customers that any internet facing device should be reviewed for vulnerabilities by your preferred expert to ensure you and your equipment are as secure as possible. This needs to be reviewed by you on a regular basis, new vulnerabilities are found daily and nobody can afford to be complacent.

Should you have any questions or queries then please email technical.support@blackboxsecurity.co.uk and we will do our best to assist.
